Before the sunset, having an espresso macchiato at a cafe, and looking at the scenery around me. I suddenly have a strange feeling. I think to myself, I think that none of the people walking around here today will exist in a hundred years’ time. The young girls enjoying the momentary sunshine, the man about to board the bus, the lady looking at the sculptures, and myself will probably all be gone in a hundred years. One hundred years from now, the same light will shine on this city and the same wind will be blowing across these streets. The walls here also will still stare silently at everything. But none of us here exist here anymore.
Sometimes at sunset, I feel sorry for the people in this beautiful country who have been driven by the gravity of this history. Of course, I know it would not be the right feeling for them.
